The Crafts Council of Odisha was formed to work for the all-round development of crafts and craftsmen of the state. The council is affiliated to the Crafts Council of India which in turn is affiliated to the World Craft Council. It is a non-government organization registered under Societies Registration Act-1860.The Council is also registered by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for undertaking CSR activities pursuant to Section 135 of the Companies Act and is also registered under Section 12A and approved under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

The Crafts Council of Odisha is going to give “Council Award” from this year to honor the best artisans in the field of handicrafts and handlooms of Odisha. This honor will be given to the state and national award-winning and highly skilled and talented handicrafts and handloom artisans. Council Award is not just an honour—it is an initiative to give a new identity to the talent, creativity and contribution of the artisans at the state level. Through this award, qualified artisans will get an opportunity to prepare and establish themselves for higher level awards in the future and will also act as a strong recommendation for them. The Crafts Council of Odisha is inviting qualified and interested artisans to apply for Council Award 2026. Let’s honour the best artisans who are taking our art and tradition forward.
